Prohibited and Restricted Items

General Policy

  • We will/may not accept any materials or products that may pose a danger to handling staff.
  • We will/may not carry substances classified as dangerous in the latest edition of the IATA publication.
  • If prohibited or restricted items are found in parcels, penalties may be imposed.

Strictly Prohibited Items

The following items must never be shipped through our services:

Living Beings and Biological Materials

  • All living animals and/or creatures of every description.
  • Human or animal remains or ashes.

Illegal and Dangerous Goods

  • Illegal goods (contraband).
  • Firearms, weapons, explosive devices, ammunition, or any parts thereof.
  • Ammunition, gunpowder, mace, tear gas, or pepper sprays.
  • Imitation (replica) or toy firearms.
  • Dangerous goods of every description.
  • Dry ice.

Machinery and Equipment

  • Engines, generators, and gearboxes.
  • Fire extinguishers.
  • Life jackets and self-inflating life vests.

Food and Perishables

  • Food products of every description (perishable or non-perishable).
  • Perishable goods, including but not limited to pharmaceutical products.

Lithium and Electronic Devices

  • Lithium batteries or products containing such batteries.
  • Consumer electronic devices containing lithium metal or lithium-ion batteries (e.g., watches, cameras, laptops, cellular phones).

Alcohol, Tobacco, and Luxury Items

  • Alcoholic beverages of every description.
  • Furs and ivory or items made from them.
  • Tobacco and tobacco products.

Valuables and Documents

  • Automotive panels.
  • Antiques and fine art.
  • Deeds, securities, treasury notes, tickets, vouchers, stamps, or duty stamps.
  • Designs, patterns, plans, manuscripts, and other documents.
  • Jewelry and watches of every description.
  • Money and coins of every description.

Precious Metals and Stones

  • Precious metals: silver, gold, platinum, palladium, iridium, osmium, rhodium, ruthenium.
  • Precious stones: diamonds, emeralds, rubies, sapphires.
  • Semi-precious stones: amethyst, aquamarine, garnet, opal, pearls, quartz, topaz, tourmaline.

Flammable and Hazardous Materials

  • Camping fuel containers.
  • Surfboard repair kits (containing highly flammable resin).
  • Corrosives such as acids, alkalis, and mercury.
  • Security cases with explosives or dye cartridges.
  • Machines with petrol-powered engines (e.g., lawnmowers, chainsaws).
  • Fireworks, signal flares, sparklers, or explosives.
  • Fuel, paints, lighter refills, matches.
  • Drain cleaners and solvents.
  • Spray cans, butane fuel, scuba tanks, propane tanks, CO2 cartridges.

Other Hazardous Items

  • Radioactive materials.
  • Poisons and infectious substances.
  • Non-radioactive medicinal or toilet articles (e.g., hairsprays, perfumes, colognes, and medicines containing alcohol).

Dangerous Goods

Definition

Dangerous goods are articles or substances capable of posing a significant risk to health, safety, or property when transported by air.

Examples

  • Pesticides.
  • Petrol.
  • Acids.
  • Aerosols.
  • Bleaches.
